I was referred to VEHICLE TRADERS to sell my 6 year old BMW Convertible by BMW South Africa.on the 30th June I made my initial contact with Marc Scott, the owner, and exactly 2 months later on 30th Aug 2008 I received the money in my bank account for the Sale of my car.

When I first met Marc I was impressed with his straight talking "no frills" approach at doing business.I also liked the fact that VEHICLE TRADERS only took 3% plus Vat of the Sale Price of my Vehicle as commission on a "Private-to Private" sale. Marc advised me what price I should market my vehicle at, and as the current market climate is a "Buyer's Market", I complied and listed the car at the TRADE Book Value Price.

My car was listed on the 3 main car websites, including AUTOTRADER, for only R199 cost to me.It was only when I decided to drop my price even further, that I got a bite on my car.You see everything sells at a certain price and Sellers need to be very flexible in this market in order to sell their car, else their car will gather dust on the shelf with the thousands of other Sellers' cars who cannot move their cars because they are holding out for a price that will not be achieved in these trying economic times.

The rest of my transaction was handled by the very capable, very enthusiastic, very energetic, confident Kai Schulz. I was impressed with Kai's service and his professionalism and his warmth as a people's person.Vehicle Traders sourced me the buyer and took all the hassle off my plate including having the vehicle test driven by the buyer, negotiating the final closing price, having the vehicle road worthied and licensed in the new owners name as well as having the vehicle valeted for me and putting on 4 new tires(at my expense, but they took the hassle of doing this off my plate which was fantastic).

My only constructive advise would be for Vehicle Traders to manage Sellers' expectations in terms of advising Sellers of the length of time between receiving a "Bank release form" from the financing institution and you as the Seller actually receiving your money for the Sale, that could be a period of 8 days between releasing your car to the buyer and receiving your money, which was the case with me as I sold my car on a Friday afternoon and at month end, however with other Sellers the time frame could be shorter depending on the circumstances of the transaction.

Nevertheless I go away as a very happy client and am able to go forward with my plans that required me to sell my car desperately quickly.So a big thank you to Marc and Kai of Vehicle Traders.They were able to sell my car in a tough market, when nobody else could.
