The Volkswagen Polo Sedan is a modern sedan manufactured by the Germany car maker Volkswagen at its South Africa plant. Unlike the Volkswagen New Polo, which comes in eight model variants, the Polo sedan comes in 6 specialized model variants which are the 1.4 L Trendline; 1.4 L Comfortline; 1.6 L Trendline; 1.6 L Comfortline; 1.6 L Comfortline Tiptronic and 1.6 L TDI Comfortline. The Polo sedan uses the similar engine options as the New Polo, i.e. the 1.4 L and 1.6 L engine, taking on two brand names – Trendline and Comfortline into its model lines, while the Tiptronic feature on one of the model is attributed to the name Comfortline Tiptronic. The Comfortline model line, embraces the Turbo Direct Injection into its portfolio, attributed to the 1.6L TDI Comfortline model.

The 1.4 L engine does deliver 63 kW of power at 5000 rpm, and also records a carbon emission record of 139g/km, making it one of the most environmentally, fuel injection, friendly cars on the market today. All models in the Polo Sedan range do use 5 speed manual gearbox, save of course for the 1.6 L Tiptronic model, which uses a 6-speed triptronic transmission. The 1.6 L Comfortline Tiptronic also comes with basic features such as the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), dual front and side airbags, 15” Riverside alloy wheels, electric windows, front and rear, leather work, 3-spoke, multi-function steering wheel, multi-function computer, radio/CD RCD-210 with MP3 functionality, chrome detailing on interior and exterior, cruise control; with a power outage of 77kW at 5250 rpm, while carbon emission is 154g/km. The 1.6L TDI Comfortline adds on the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) on the list of basic features.
