On the diesel engine, the product line consists of six model variants; the C200, C200 CDI, C220 Diesel, C220 CDI, C250 and C250 turbo-diesel. The current Mercedes Benz C-Class Sedan is available in four trim levels, C300 Luxury, C300 Sport, C350 and C63 AMG. The C300 Luxury and C300 Sport share the same engine, a 3.0 liter engine. The 2000 – 2007 models come in three body styles, the 2-door coupe, 4-door sedan and 5-door station wagon, with engines ranging from 1.8L petrol to 3.0 L diesel with three transmission modes available.
The 2000 – 2007 model features three transmission variants, namely the 6-speed manual, 5-speed automatic and the 7-speed automatic; the same applicable on the 2007+ model. The 2007+ range also provides for a 1.6L engine. The W204 C-Class comes in four trim levels, the Classis, Elegance, Avantgarde and AMG. All trims have their own unique style and design, in line with Mercedes Benz’s exceptional abilities to come up with top of the range products that have the most premium quality and reliability. The Classic trim features smaller engines and also come with cloth seats, while the leather seats are optional. The Elegance trim features vinyl designs and interior work, while the Avantgarde models come with a fabric interior and leather as an option.
The current Mercedes Benz model is available in four trim levels that include the C300 luxury, the C300 sport and the C63 AMG. Found on both the C300 Luxury and the C300 Sport is a 3.0 L engine, while differences are in design of the exterior design and transmission. The two C300 variants adopt a seven speed automatic transmission and 4Matic system – which is an all-wheel drive system.
The ability of the C-Class sedan C350 to take on high speeds is in the 268 horsepower engine, driven by a 3.5 Liter, V6 engine. At the top of the product line in the C-Class range, is the model C63 AMG, a sports edition using a 6.2 Liter, V8 engine, capable of generating 451 horsepower, using a seven speed automatic transmission. The C63 AMG has exceptional acceleration abilities, taking a record 4.4 seconds to reach the 96km/hr mark. Safety features on the Mercedes C-Class is top class amongst all sedans on the market. Features standard on all models are the driver airbags, front passenger airbag, ABS, Traction control, Advanced Sound Retriever (ASR) which came standard on the two basic models in 1998 and 1999.
