The Mazda 2 Sedan is a modern economic sedan, manufactured by Mazda Corporation, a Japanese car maker. The car first went on sale the year 2010. It is powered by 1.5L four cylinder petrol engine which that delivers 76kW of power and 135Nm of torque. It comes with two transmission options; the five speed manual and the four speed automatic transmissions and it is bit longer than the hatchback by 2500mm, with the overlap appearing behind the rear wheels. The current sedan, Mazda 2, 2011 variant received a facelift; and modifications include front, side and curtain airbags, Antilock Braking System and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD). The 2011 model has a fuel consumption of 6.4 Liters per 100km. There is also the option of the manual or automatic transmission. The Mazda 1.3 L Active Sedan comes with a service plan of 4 year/ 60000km and a warranty of 4 years/ 120,000km with set service intervals of 15,000km. Base features common on the 1.3 L Active variant include the manual aircon, 14 inch wheels, alarm and immobilizer, dual front airbags; and for entertainment the car comes with a radio, CD player with MP3 and Auxiliary function. The key features on the 1.5 L Dynamic model come with additions and upgrades such as the 15 inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler and front fog lamps, while the service plan, warranty and service intervals remains the same.
Additional upgrades on the 1.5 L Individual model variant include the automatic aircon, 16 inch alloy wheels, sport suspension, rear deck lid spoiler, smartless key entry and like the 1.5 L Active model, the service plan, warranty and service intervals remains the same; 4 year/ 60,000km; 4 year/ 120,000km and 15,000km respectively.
Fuel consumption on the 1.3 L Active sedan is 5.8 L per 100km while on the other three models, Mazda attributes 6.4 L per 100km. Convenience on the Mazda 2 Sedan is enhanced by the super locking system and adjustable front and rear headrests across all models. All models come with a 4 speaker sound system which enhances comfort and enjoyment in the car. The suspension on the Mazda 2 sedan is defined by the MacPherson struts on the front, while the rear is supported by the torsion beam. Maximum torque across the models is 122Nm at 3500rpm on the 1.3 L Active model, while on the other three models the record is 135Nm at 3500rpm. All models use electronic injection and come with the manual transmission, which gives the Sedan a smooth ride and acceleration. The Sedan is supported by a wheelbase measuring 2490mm and it has an overall length and width of 4263mm and 1695mm respectively. The ground clearance is 152mm. Notable color options on the Sedan include the sparkling Gold Mica, cool White, aurora Blue Metallic, metropolitan Grey Mica, True Red, Highlight Silver Metallic and Black Mica.
The Mazda 2 sedan comes as a modem city vehicle, which can also be used for light business transport within the city, from point A to B, preferably the manual transmission option.
